About Australind
Australind is a humble suburb located in the Shire Harvey, Western Australia and 12 kilometers away from the Central Business District.
The town has over 11, 954 population according to the 2011 census.
History of Australind
Australind is originally a town of the Wardani people before the European Settlers come in.
The name was derived from the combination of the words Australia and India. The idea was from the belief that the land can be utilized by the British Indian Army to breed horses.
The Australian Land Company bought 103, 000 acres of land from Australind. The purchase is for the development of an English-style village for the settlers. They plan to build a town square, a school, church, mall, and a public hall.
However, on January 1841, Rev. John Smithies disagreed and deterred the plan.
