1n 1953, Binningup was subdivided by a syndicate of Harvey people and they called the land Binningup Beach estate. The name was actively used since 1849 until it became the norm. Today, the land is known by the name Binningup.
During the World War II, the area was used by the Voluntary Defense Corps as their lookout point.
Gordon Goodson and Ted Holthouse visited the Harvey Road Board in 1950 for an opinion. The evaluation and debate last for two years until they got the permission from the Association members to begin.
In 1950, the association bought a farmland and then subdivided the area.
A decade after the syndicate bought the land, only a handful of residents are in loving in the area. But after several years, homes were developed, road was constructed, and communities were built.
The Shire of Harvey requested to make Binningup a town and it happened officially in year 1963.
