History of Leschenault
Leschenault was named after Jean Baptiste Leschenault de la Tour, a botanist who voyaged and explored the Bunbury area with Nicolas Baudin in 1802.The first sighting in the area was made by Captain A.P Jonk on February 1658.
In 1980s, low-level agriculture activities like grazing are a prominent in the place.
The Shire of Harvey and State Government has decided to build an industrial park near Kemerton in mid-1980. After a decade, during the development of facilities in Australind, people became interested living in Leschenault. Land areas were released and distributed to Ashmere Heights, Wildflower Woods, Parklands Estate, Westgarth, and other small residential estates.
